Iqunix Magi65 Review

Iqunix released a new keyboard, called the Magi65. It is a low-profile keyboard, which costs $119. It feels very premium for its price, and the unboxing experience is something you will remember. It is wrapped nicely in foam, and you get two branded boxes with extra keycaps. You also get a metal keycap in the box, which is a nice addition as these keycaps can cost anywhere from $5 to $30 if you buy them separately.

Review

The Iqunix Magi65 comes in two colors, Shadow Black and Ochre White. For a low-profile keyboard, the Magi65 is surprisingly heavy. You’ll also notice that the case is very thin, just 11m. It’s made of CNC Aluminum and feels very durable, and it also has zero pings.

The Magi65 has two media keys, and for an extra $20, you get a side module that has a volume roller, extra media buttons, and some space for your 2.4 GHz USB dongle. With this side module, the keyboard extends in length and becomes closer to a TKL keyboard. To turn on the wireless mode, you must push the FN and ESCAPE keys together for a few seconds.

The Magi65 has support for both Mac and Windows, and you get keycaps for both of these systems which you can swap out. Even on max brightness, the RGB is barely noticeable, so this keyboard isn’t good for use in the dark. This keyboard also has a floating keycap design, which some users may like.

You only get one switch option, which are Kailh’s low-profile Gold Red switches. However, you can swap these out with other switches as the keyboard is hot-swappable. If you swap them out for the Kailh Phantom switches, then this keyboard will sound even better. The stabilizers are good and come pre-lubed, and the keycaps are low-profile PBT.

The Magi65 has so many sound-dampening layers and foams, which are the main reason that it sounds so good. Despite the many layers, it still has decent gasket performance. Also, I didn’t find anything to mod for this keyboard, because Iqunix already did everything.

What’s in the box

  • Iqunix Magi65
  • Keycap Puller
  • Extra Keycaps
  • Aviator Cable
  • 2.4GHz Wireless Dongle

Verdict

Overall, the Iqunix Magi65 is an impressive low-profile keyboard that delivers a premium feel at a reasonable price. I don’t have anything to complain about except for the RGB, but Iqunix makes up for it with the build quality and acoustics of the keyboard. The switches and keycaps are excellent, and this keyboard feels amazing to type on. It is one of the best low-profile keyboards right now, and I highly recommend you try it.
